Will London competition be less fierce?

Will London recruiting be a bit easier from this year? From what I have read on different job postings, you  have to be eligible to work in the UK to apply. Can some of you shed some light? How common is for smaller banks (maybe Bulge Brackets do sponsor foreign candidates) to sponsor people for a work visa? From what I recall, London recruiting has always been very hostile for Non-EU, but now people on the continent and Non-EU students are considered the same. Does this mean that students from top non UK schools (HEC, Bocconi etc) will be cut out of the competition?

Thanks for your input. May I ask what are your thoughts on the LSE MSc Accounting & Finance? Is it viewed as a 2nd tier programme when you review applications or in reality the difference is marginal?

Nobody cares the slightest - work experience will always be more important. Choice of Uni and subject (as in AccFin vs Finance vs Economics etc.) is surprisingly overrated for the sake of getting an interview (there is still distinct differences and advantages of course) as long as you are at one of the known targets (doesn't really matter too much whether it is LSE, LBS, Oxbridge, Imperial, HEC, Bocconi, St. Gallen, WHU, etc.).

I guess, but you need to secure an offer and your employer has to sponsor you (so you might want to check if they offer sponsorship) otherwise you can't get a work visa
