Withdrawing and Starting a New Profile

Hi, I'm in a bit of a conundrum. A few weeks ago I was slated to start volunteering for a local lawyer with a set start date. Upon the advice of my parents I chose to include the volunteering as something I was going to start on my resume. I applied to GS internships for next summer with this on my resume. As of this week, the lawyer isn't answering my calls or emails (they told me their office was moving a few blocks over back when I interviewed, but I was given a date that I would receive a call with an offer to work and never got one). I just got notified that I have a hirevue interview set up with GS. Is there any way to send them a corrected resume and if so should I explain or just leave it at me updating information? I feel really crappy for having misleading information on my resume and having taken my parents' advice on this.

I would suggest that you should not be worried about it right now and prepare for the HireVue, and if you get selected for the next round which would be super day I believe then e-mail the recruiter explaining everything or keep it quiet until they ask you on the interview.

I am not sure how you listed on the resume, if you listed as an "Incoming ...... Volunteer" that I would say you can get away with it but if you list the task you'll be in charge of and other stuff then it can get ugly. For now focus on acing the interview my friend.

Take it with a grain of salt as I am non professional.

Good Luck

Thanks. Your advice settles me a bit. Would you suggest I maybe withdraw my applications and start a new profile, then send it again with proper corrections? It is still quite early in the recruiting process so I may have a shot at getting another hirevue and won't feel morally gross and panicked about having it info on my resume

I would not risk it. and HireVue is just a behavioral interview. Tell them before you advance to super-day. I would not recommend withdrawing it and re-submit. Just make sure to avoid including the volunteer in your answers.

Once you selected for Super-Day then tell them but for now keep it the way it is.

is it for their legal department or IBD?
