Would it be weird to email my new boss asking for ways to prep for my new role?

Just accepted an offer as a fixed income research analyst at a small-ish bank. My previous work experience is somewhat fixed income related but not at all credit research / trading related. The new role will have me trading corp and muni bonds for UHNW portfolios and doing research on issuers.

Would it be weird for me to email my new boss asking for any reading material/ways to prep for my new role?

edit: should add that i'll be at my current role until the end of the month

I've never had a job where my bosses don't give me material to review before starting. I don't think it would hurt to ask if there is anything you should go over or familiarize yourself with before you start the role. If you're uncomfortable asking the boss, maybe ask a coworker if you know one.

Also, sounds like a fun job! I too work with UHNW clients and have learned a ton about munis and munis closed end funds. Congrats!
