Need advice on school/major - Thank you.
First of all, I live in Virginia. I plan on going to community college for 2 years, and I will be able to get guaranteed acceptance to UVA after 2 years. The only major I would be able to do related to business is economics. I will be paying in financial aid and loans, so in-state tuition is a good benefit for me.
- Would this be the best route to go or should I do a different major at a different school?
- Would I be likely to get a job after graduating or shortly after that requires a bachelors if I graduated in this?
I've read there's a lot of underemployment for recent college grads so I'm a bit worried.

Just be careful picking a major based on job opportunities. You should research the job opps with a specific major, but you should be picking a major that you enjoy and are passionate about. Don't just pick one because it will get you a job. Also, why are you saying that the only major you would be able to do in business is econ? UVA has a great undergrad business school, and you can concentrate in more that just econ.
I have a passion for business, particularly investing which is why I'm on this website rather than another one.
I'm aware of the undergrad business school, but it has a 12% acceptance rate for transfers. It has a 57% acceptance rate for current UVA students. The guaranteed acceptance doesn't work for the business school, so I'd have to take my chances on it. Some of the prerequisites aren't available at the community college I'm going to attend. If I were to get accepted, would I be able to complete those classes at UVA before I apply for the business school?
The McIntire admissions office (or probably their website) would be able to answer the prereqs questions. You may also want to see if you can apply for McIntire admission while also attempting to transfer into whichever college houses the econ program. If you can do the prereqs once admitted, I would definitely think about that route. Among public business programs, UVA undergrad is ranked very high (top 2 or 3, I think). There might be an option to major in econ, take a couple of semesters of classes that may work as business electives, then apply to transfer into McIntire as a UVA student. Do the research first and double check it with the admissions office and an adviser.

I would go business if that's what you are interested in. Unless you are extremely passionate about econ, their business school would be the route I would choose. That is only because I really enjoy finance. Pick the major that most appeals to you and your career interests.
From someone who spent 2 years at CC for guaranteed admission to my flagship, I am SOOOOO jealous of the kids that can do this with the top public schools.
