Second Year Transfer student
Greeting everyone.
I am an incoming second year transfer student preparing to transfer to a University of California in Summer 2022 for economics. I have a decently strong GPA (3.9) from the best transfer college in California, so I should hopefully get into Cal . I have been passionate about business and market since I was young, started by first business when I was 14. Got in love with the idea of investing in people and business. I was fortunate enough to start investing since when I turned 17, dabbled my first option when I was 17 n 1/2. Fortunately, shorted airlines right before the march 2020 crash, made 30k before I turned an adult, proceeded to loose it all due to being too bearish. After this incident I learned all about investing and started doing equities and derivatives trading full time at 18. I am very deep into equites and derivatives now, I know relatively complex topics such as gamma hedging and ratio backspread. I have been in the game for 2 years now, waking up everyday at 6:30 and working on equities full time. By now, I basically the whole 9 yards as far as a retail perspective have read dozens of 10k and can read all kinds of sec forms (13-Fs, 8k and 20Fs) and financial statements.
Planning to get into buy side as soon as I graduate from college, I am thinking trading or PE. I do not like long hours of sell side and I love making money from risk, hence I can not work on the sell side. Hopefully I can get a internship as soon as I get into Cal in sales and trading. I would appreciate any advice from senior bankers regarding the right path or any advice on life : ).
Thank you for reading and looking forward to make friends and connections.
