75 Hard Progress - Stay Tuned
What's up everyone - the other day someone asked how to lose weight really quickly, and we all started posting workout/diet plans. I mentioned I was starting 75 hard today, and someone seemed interested in the progress, so I'll keep you posted via this thread for anyone who wants to follow along.
Background: typically an in-shape person, but quarantine hit me hard. I've got immunocompromised family members so I stopped going to the gym entirely and basically stopped participating in human life lol. I got my vaccine last month so I'm getting back into everything now.
Started quarantine at a pretty lean 220lbs. I compete in bodybuilding/strength/general fitness competitions so I'm used to gaining and losing weight pretty easily, but I found it much harder to control myself during quarantine because of depression. I was eating out all the time, never exercising, pretty much just sitting on my ass all day.
TODAY, DAY 1: Weighed in at ~300lbs. I gained 70+ pounds during COVID, but because of muscle atrophy I certainly gained more than that in fat. Walked for 45 minutes for workout #1, then did an easy 45 minute workout with weights, focused on pecs/shoulders/tris, for workout #2. I felt totally out of shape; after walking my legs felt wobbly, and after the weights my pecs were on fire in all kinds of ways. It feels good to be getting back into everything though, and I'm definitely not feeling as depressed as usual.
I'm doing a 75 hard-lite version of this where I'm focusing on sustainable progress rather than losing 70lbs in 70 days or anything crazy. Eating a total of 2000 calories today with 150+ grams of protein and 30+ grams of fiber daily. I'll update you all every 10-15 days.
TLDR: got fat during quarantine, turning everything around and losing weight/regaining muscle now. Weigh about 300lbs, doing 75 hard to kickstart my weight loss, going to focus on weights + do some easy cardio daily. Also focusing on a balanced diet.
