Addicted to NYU girls

Interned at an IB in nyc this summer, stayed near NYU and regularly visited phebes and the Spaniard. Every day I wake up with a pit in my stomach missing the girls that were at nyu. They are truly the best specimens on earth. How do I solve my anxiety? I have a return offer but I can’t do these UCSD chicks for another 6 months

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems like you're dealing with a mix of post-summer nostalgia and dissatisfaction with your current environment. Here's how you can tackle this:

  1. Shift Your Focus: Instead of fixating on what you miss, channel your energy into preparing for your return to NYC. Use this time to build skills, network, and set yourself up for success when you go back. The anticipation of returning can help ease your anxiety.

  2. Expand Your Social Circle: While you may not find the same vibe as NYU in UCSD, there are likely interesting people around if you broaden your horizons. Join clubs, attend events, or explore new hobbies to meet people outside your usual circle.

  3. Stay Connected: If you made friends or connections in NYC, keep in touch with them. Regular calls or messages can help you feel more connected to the city and its energy.

  4. Focus on Self-Improvement: Use these six months to work on yourself—whether it’s fitness, learning a new skill, or diving into a passion project. This will not only distract you but also make you feel more confident and fulfilled.

  5. Plan Visits: If feasible, plan a short trip back to NYC during a break. Even a weekend visit can help you reconnect with the city and its vibe.

  6. Perspective Shift: Remember, this is temporary. In six months, you’ll be back in NYC with your return offer. Use this time as a stepping stone rather than a setback.

Hang in there—time flies, and before you know it, you’ll be back in the city you love.
