Alex Hormozi

Hey all,

Has anyone here stumbled across Alex Hormozi on youtube? His advice and takes on business seem to be very valuable and differentiated within the space. I am typically very skeptical on getting business advice from content creators as its pretty clear they make money from teaching others and not actually doing the work they are teaching. Alex doesn’t sell courses and appears to be offering advice just to potentially generate attention for his private equity firm acquisition.com? He also sold his business to American Pacific Group so he has some credibility.

Wondering if anyone has come across him in business, or if they have any thoughts on what he speaks about through his platform. It’s pretty rare to see someone with successful exits to private equity firms to be blasting his secrets on youtube, so very curious if anyone has any thoughts.

Thanks.

Ever since YouTube censored everybody halfway interesting or fun, all we're left with is bullshit self-help entrepreneur scam artists, videogame livestreamers, edited clips from television.

I fucking hate normies man.

Pretty much everyone.  YT has just enacted some really harsh TOS for creators that essentially turns everyone into a copy pasta clone.  This isn't even overtly political this time like it has been in the past.

YT and by its defacto nature Google, are rapidly becoming one of the most evil corporations on earth.  I genuinely believe their TOS was designed to ensare content creators and demonetize them en mass.  The interesting thing is that content that is demonitized actually still has advertising on it 90% of the time.  This is just a value transfer from the content creators to Google.

He does have interesting advice and I follow him on YT. But of course he is selling. His business is helping gyms improve their performance and also set up Acquisitions.com. He has built up his brand as a thought leader through social media. which certainly is a great way to be viewed and does occasionally add value to his viewers. Hence I follow him. I really like the content he is putting out he has a very strategic way of thinking about business and breaking things down. Good stuff. But don't kid yourself that he isn't selling - just maybe not shilling. But it’s branding and sales for sure.
