Defund the academia

American corporate journalists are largely just well-trained dogs that are handed a script they're expected to repeat on screen while emoting. In fact that's just most corporate journalists in general.
This has been the case for 150 years. Journalism is not the fourth estate, it is there to support the whims of those in power.
