Any WSO Sneakerheads/street wear collectors?

Anyone here collect Supreme, Jordans, Kobes, Lebrons, Dunks, etc? Its a pretty interesting hobby for me to get a little extra income and if you guys are into that sort of fashion outside of work. The economics of the street wear market is pretty interesting and a lot of the merchandise is good resale too. I usually buy a pair of Jordans to resell, and essentially get the pairs I want to keep for free with the profit. Speaking of, the Kobe 3 Prelude and Gamma Blue 11s are releasing this weekend. I'm sorta new to the game but as a huge fan of basketball (having played and watched) It grew as a hobby.

Don't be a douche. An opinion cannot be intrinsically right or wrong, and while I agree those are nice shoes, there are those here that would say they are ugly, and neither of you would be right.

There are plenty of Wall Street kids, young and old, that love a good pair of sneakers in addition to their dress shoes. So stop being obnoxious. Your propensity to only wear dress shoes outside of the gym doesn't make you classier, better dressed, or more refined than anyone. Some people...

No doubt but keep in mind I have Business Professional and casual clothing collection. I'm wearing my black Park Aves right now

Just the kind of comment I'd expect on WSO. This thread is a good example of why I'm glad I attended a public school. Can speak to the sneaker game, game theory, and everything in between. Some people on here have no idea how to interact outside of Lower Manhattan.

I'm a huge sneakerhead. Strangely though, I'm not really interested in J's past the 13 (and if we're being honest the 11), but I don't touch Adidas (except TMac 1's, first real ball shoe) or Reebok (except original Question Lows, first casual sneaker).

I'm a huge Nike fan though, from Dunks to AF1 to Max 90s. Don't have enough money to collect anymore unfortunately.

I feel you the higher the # goes, the more tacky they become. You can't beat the classic retros, Fire Red 3s, Cement 3s, Infrared 4s. I dont mess around with Reebok or Adidas, although the Questions do look pretty cool to hoop in. I really like AM90s too, very comfortable and clean shoe. I had a pair of Infrareds, one of my favorites. It's never too late to get back in man, you can resell almost all the new releases and wait for the new releases you want. Very difficult to get shoes tho unless you program a bot

I don't collect or sell clothes. I just buy what I like and wear it. My style's a blend of classic menswear, streetswear. and utilitarian techwear.

This half Korean half black chick I brought home last week fucking stole my favorite Supreme hat and won't answer her phone. And I bought the bitch IHOP in the morning.

Yup, right here. Just got the latest xi's and eagerly awaiting the 28th when the original 1s will drop in black/red. I tend to stay away from Adidas as I grew up with Nike and was a huge Jordan fan for most of my life.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

Those were nice as well. Luckily the guys at my favorite sneaker store know me well enough by now that I just call them ahead of release and pick my box up when I feel like it :)

Want to bump this. Though I only own a couple of generic pairs, I'm a big fan of Dunks. Anyone have any special editions? Or good spots where to cop a pair?

I've been looking for the Gibson Guitar editions (without emptying my bank account) forever.

I just copped the new Tiffany Dunks and All Star game Kobe 9 and Durants. Got my sneakerbot so I'm waiting for new releases..

The Nike Twitter releases are a complete joke btw. The links are always broken and the shoes are sold out in seconds. Even with a bot I couldn't land the "Infrared 23" Retro 6 Jordans. Nike's release procedure are pretty questionable...oh well.

I used to rock some Iversons. I think it was the I3's or something like that.

Loved the T-Mac 4s, the one that had the little thing on the back that tightened instead of laces. I had the blue version. Those shoes were awesome until that thing broke in the back and when I played ball it would be hanging taking out people's shins.

LMAO I remember those in Middle School. I'd imagine that thing be a razer on the back of your shoe. The Iverson's were HOT back in the day. I'm close to Philly so the Iverson fandom was tremednous back in his prime. That guy was a warrior and his marketing campaigns were awesome

"I got the white btches saying its a black thing, leave them with nothing but plenty of back pain" ha artist?

I assume its more of a ghetto thing rather than a particular race thing but for the white kids who are into that type of thing, most of us have grown out of that phase by middle school/ high school. I couldnt exactly wear my timbs or AF1's into my country club...

Yes. I really wish I didn't have an addiction to rare kicks, but I do. Not as into the streetwear, but I have a number of alife and supreme tees and sweatshirts

and I'm white

By streetwear, I mean Supreme, Stussy Deluxe, ALIFE, Futura Labs, Maharashi, and shit. Phat Farm/Timbaland is laughable btw, only ghetto ass kids still wear that stuff.

PLAY by CDG (props if you know what this is) swallowed up my rent money lol.

And I need W)TAP x Vans..

@ GoodBread & 4frnt: what do you think of the state of Nike SB? Dead? Or still kickin'?

White guy, but do pick up a good piece here and there. Definitely big Hundreds fan, SLVDR, Obey, nothing over the top. Just get a news feed from DigitalGravel.com & pick what I like. Not so much the whole sneaker thing. Most of those stupid Nikes are ugly as hell; but did get a pretty nice pair of throw back Airmax's to lift in.

^^^ Looks like it. I would tred lightly if wearing some of that shit. Some of it isn't all that bad.

Interesting post. I'm not exactly a sneakerhead but it would take a while to go through my rotation. My ability to cop new kicks definitely went south when I moved from Baton Rouge and started paying rent in Boston. Anyone else coming from BR/NOLA area?

Anybody into the more high end Japanese strain of streetwear? BAPE (the cleaner pieces), Undercoverism, Neighborhood, Original Fake, Fragment Design.

ha! I actually haven't gone to Bodega yet - I'm afraid I'll spend what little money I have as a grad student. I do check out Concepts every now then since it's just down the street from me.
