Is that normal? I’m only a 1st year so I don’t know. It’s kinda fucked that I’m expected to work even the 23rd

It's not off base tbh, which is why it sucks. I worked 7 days a week all through my A1 year. Even now, I'm going into the holidays with two ongoing sell-sides so fully expect to be engaged though not "working".

I'm def not one of those "I did it so everyone has to", which is what prompted the live deals vs. pitching comment. If you're in there jammed for pitches or just because some MD wants to see faces, that's just bad culture.

My MD said last year he had analysts in on Christmas lmao I’m fucked

Damn glad I didn’t do IB. Holidays at my company are slow, no meetings or projects starting for the most part.

It does suck though if we have an active deal going and the seller wants a close by EOY. Tough to get all our functional teams on board though since they’re already kind of short handed with PTO and regular end of year work.
