Are businesses becoming entirely digital?
Macy's recently announced that it will be closing many of its stores.
It’s planning to close dozens of stores this year. And said it’ll axe around 10,000 jobs. This comes after shoppers weren’t feeling that Macy’s coupon bug over the holidays and sales took a dive. Plus Macy’s has been struggling for years to get people to come into its stores, because the Internet. Now it says it’s going to use the cash money it’s saving with these moves to help boost business online.With services like Amazon's prime shipping, many people are just resorting to ordering everything online, myself included. It is definitely far more convenient. However, does this mean that businesses, especially in the retail industry, are going to become mostly digital? Would this be a good or bad thing in your opinion?

You are focusing specifically on traditional Retail. In that case, it is pretty conclusive that aside from a certain niche segment of the market who chooses brick and mortar over e-commerce, places like Macy's, K-Mart, Sears, etc will continue to bleed chips.
Those displaced individuals may not find the same equivalent jobs at Amazon.com, Aliexpress, NewEgg as they do business fundamentally different than brick and mortar. Everyday low prices just got a lot lower and we as consumers won't have it go back up because Walmart is bleeding chips.
Becoming digital is not a bad thing and in fact it is useful to the seller as well as the customer. Moreover the lead generation for business is more at online.
