Are company reviews on Glassdoor and Indeed skewed?
I'm wondering if it's time to stop reading these reviews. I'm in the interview process of a regional bank that's been growing rapidly through a series of acquisitions, acquiring 9 financial institutions over the past 10 years. I'm no expert but nearly one acquisition every year seems like a lot in terms of managing cultural integration and restructuring current operations. The reviews on Glassdoor and indeed tend to get worse over the years and complain that the culture's on a decline. I can see how this kind of growth, if not managed properly, can be very poor but I can also see that some people may simply have liked the more lax cultures of the smaller banks. Perhaps the salty people are the ones drawn towards Glassdoor and Indeed?
Thankfully I've read some good things about my target location :). A review for my target position says that they are overworked and under-payed as exempt employees, so naturally I'm a bit worried despite the positive culture at my target location.
