Yes… can’t believe I’m responding to this, but investment banking at its core is a non-depository institution providing advisory services to connect sources and uses of capital. If you’re bringing together buyers and sellers, investors and operators, lenders and borrowers, etc - you’re doing investment banking.
Yes, and the debt market is larger than the equity market. I recommend you learn more about debt because regardless of the type of transaction it can heavily influence an offering/m&a deal.

Putting capital markets is somewhat vague as hundreds of roles are technically in "capital markets" including back office.

Don’t get too bogged down on titles. In this day and age the title investment banker is used more as a broad stroke to define a wide range of jobs
