FunkfreedWhy aren't you spitting game to the hot HR women?
This. I've never met anyone in HR who 1. wasn't a girl 2. I wouldn't bang.
I feel left out as I have never met a hot HR girl...

So, what is the best way to apply for a job that I'm not qualified for? So far, I've avoided you people like the plague, but I'm curious what your take is.
list your "major GPA" instead to get through the GPA screeners. sound confident in your interviews and pretend to know what you are talking about, list and try to quantify everything on your resume, even if yo u have to lie. that'll get you as far as passing through HR, with your actual interview with the department.. well best of luck.

Do they verify 'major GPA' with the same rigor as overall GPA?

I want to know what past positions you held and what exactly makes you seem like a good fit for the company and the job. tailor your resume towards that.
should have a minimum of at least 3.5 to be considered for analyst. you can apply with lower than that but your chances well...go to a career fair or network as well.
it also isn't about the resume. I have a friend who was dinged by OPS with no interview at several BB with a 3.9 at finance, but now he is a summer analyst at Deutsche for S&T. it is a draw out of a hat with these selective internships, but a high GPA puts you in the pool.

probably because they knew he would get "better" offers so why waste their time with him. Kind of like top students getting into an Ivy but getting rejected by their state school branch campus
Please don't take offense but how does it feel getting strangers higher paying jobs than you as a job?

honestly no unless the GPA is remarkably high we may consider that person. why would we choose to interview a person with no experience when there are a handful of other people with experience.
no offense taken, im just sharing what I know, i have no idea what goldman's hr strategy and policies are. I do know that Citi bank does not ask for school transcripts.
I disagree with #2. At one of the BBs in 2007, the intern group I was in had 5 HR personnel. 3 were totally bangable (even though one was not under 30), 2 I wouldn't touch with anything.
Why aren't you busy not hiring the right guy? Is there a rule that we are not aware of that HR must hire the 3rd or 4th best? Maybe these guys wont advance as quickly and not demand a higher salary?
what kind of roles do you recruit for specifically? i am an fp&a professional at a blue chip software company with a passion for entertainment, can you hook me up with a job in production finance?
pretty please? i'll be your best friend! :-)
Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?
Maybe I was just lucky. My group happened to have two HR managers and they were both smoking hot. And this is coming from someone who's pretty picky and rarely attracted to women 10 years older than me.
Johnny RingoWait....Why are we asking an INTERN at NBC what he looks for? He is not F/T nor is he in finance?
Am i missing something?
It's the only person I have any contact with in HR, so given that, he wins by default.
Speaking of which: how worthwhile is it to put all the keywords for a job in a corner on the resume and then make the font white, in order to bypass the automated screeners?

Thats what i figured but...I was thinking I was drunk or stupid.
Also the white font thing sounds like a home run if it actually works
...and by the way, this is really cool of you, so thank you. If you want to get drinks or something, PM me. I would be interested in talking with you for a while.

"Talking with you for while" means discuss who is pitching/catching

I'm the pitcher.
And I PM'd the dude but got no response. Seriously, I'd like to sit with HR and talk about how they work. If I understand the system, I can better exploit it.

Unfortunately it goes against sexual harassment policies and I would be hitting on my boss :/
so your boss is hot?
pics..
yes she is but i cant deliver pics. she is a brunette in her 20s with a very desireable body
Why are you working in HR?
What's your expected annual salary?
because that is what i study, i have friends in finance and that is how i discovered this website. lol inb4 the hate
expected salary maybe 40-50 g/yr
Kenneth? Is that you???
Won't disclose my name, but no i am not kenneth
30 rock 3

Bro - What kind of magic can you work if I send you my resume?
Commercial Banking Analyst, Buyside Internship, Wealth Management Internship
You think we got something to work with?
Hi troll.
I want to know what past positions you held and what exactly makes you seem like a good fit for the company and the job. tailor your resume towards that.
How significant is GPA to you?
should have a minimum of at least 3.5 to be considered for analyst. you can apply with lower than that but your chances well...go to a career fair or network as well.
also depends if you are a target or non-target. i go to a non-target so it is very difficult even with a high GPA to even land a OPS gig.
it also isn't about the resume. I have a friend who was dinged by OPS with no interview at several BB with a 3.9 at finance, but now he is a summer analyst at Deutsche for S&T. it is a draw out of a hat with these selective internships, but a high GPA puts you in the pool.
Give us some gossip on other NBC employees sleeping with your HR teammates (including your boss).
Please don't take offense but how does it feel getting strangers higher paying jobs than you as a job?
Have you ever worked with Tracy Morgan, and is it true that he once got himself kicked out of a club to avoid paying a 6k bar tab?
i don't feel bad becuase those strangers generate revenue while i'm getting paid to do minimal work.
+1
lol I barely see any reporters
Do you even look at people with no internship experience?
honestly no unless the GPA is remarkably high we may consider that person. why would we choose to interview a person with no experience when there are a handful of other people with experience.
no offence to hr dude, but yall asking an hr intern at nbc for tips on getting into ib? how fucking desperate r u guys?
no offense taken, im just sharing what I know, i have no idea what goldman's hr strategy and policies are. I do know that Citi bank does not ask for school transcripts.
lol at least that is what my friend who is a finance summer analyst told me. I cannot confirm this as fact for every position at Citi.
what

wait is this the nbc in washington dc by au?
What is the point of this thread?
it's tongue in cheek... hope i'm using that expression correctly.
