Baseball’s back

Not a huge baseball guy but it’s great to see American sports back on TV again, ridiculous that ESPN was showing esports and Korean baseball. Completely surreal to see the empty stadiums though.

Who’s going to win the World Series this year? Will the season even be completed? Will MLB and the NBA be able to stop the spread of the virus? Will Anthony Fauci get the Cy Young award for his great pitching? Will other leagues like the NFL (RIP college football, definitely not happening this fall) be able to play?

I am glad it is back and I do not care very much at all that fans are not in stadiums. I would like to see the Mets win the WS but my guess would be that the Dodgers will win it. The Mets have a terrific lineup but losing Syndergaard and Stroman reduces their chances of winning.

Routing for the Braves and think they'll have a good shot with their lineup as long as their pitching takes a step forward. That said it will be tough to be the Dodgers this year but anything can happen in a 3-game series.

Nats still have the pitching but have you seen that lineup? Pretty terrible without Soto and Rendon.

MLB.TV is like $60 for the season, which seems worth it. I grabbed it, has some dumb blackout rules but pretty easy to flip any game on any device.

Yeah, not worried about the lineup. The staff makes me a little nervous though, we need guys to step up quick - tonight will be big.

It was rough to watch Folty pumping 90, maybe he can turn it around like last year but doesn't look great. I say just keep throwing these young guys out there and see who sticks, they all have talent..

love to see another O's fan on here... patiently waiting for when our time will come again! at least our football's pulling through for us now

This did not age well. They can take baseball from me but I legitimately NEED football.

Few players recall big pots they have won, strange as it seems, but every player can remember with remarkable accuracy the outstanding tough beats of his career.

If the NFL season gets cancelled I'll be pissed. They make most of their money through TV contracts so they also don't have as much to lose as other sports from not having the stadiums filled

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

Dude I feel. I love Sunday football. I'm scared for it though because a bunch of my team's key players just opted out. Idk what the situation is for other teams but at least for the Pats, they will be missing a bunch of key players who don't want to put themselves and their families at risk.

Just wait. Some well-off white kid who played baseball in high school will complain that the league is giving poor kids from the Caribbean preferential treatment

The difference is that baseball kids from the Carribean are objectively better than the white kid, but blacks and hispanics getting into college/jobs are objectively worse by every measured metric.

I just want there to keep being games so we can stop talking about race and covid. just because I care about those things doesn't mean I want them to occupy 100% of my conversations. let's bullshit about how many degrees gerrit cole changed his delivery (I think he used to be 10 o clock, now he's a solid 10:45), do the math on how many dollars washington paid scherzer to lose opening day to new york, and if in fact, tim kurkjian can go 20 minutes without a voice crack filled bout of laughter

I love our national pastime. more than a lot of things.

Bad new about the marlins tho. I am worried how this will trickle to other teams. Up in NE, several key patriots players have opted out of the season including Hightower and Chung. Apparently they were on the fence and seeing how fast this can spread on a team really freaked them out, especially since Dont'a just had a kid and Chung is expecting. Couple others dropped too. Kinda scared that this just wont work...

As for world series predictions, I can guarantee that my red sox will not be going anywhere, so I project that one of the other teams will most likely win. Sox are gonna be absolute buh hole this year.
