Best films?
Let's get a list of the best psychological horror films (preferably on Netflix) the ones I've watched recently are 1922, Calibre, and Welcome Home. If you comment a finance film or an American psycho joke then you're forever destined to work at Brown Gibbons Lang
Edit: just watched ‘The Vanished’, such a great film. Thomas Jane is the best (he was in this film and also 1922)
You want the best crazy psychological war movie? Tiefer nummer Eins, Tiefer. Das Boot will blow your mind. It's a German war movie that dislikes Germany. (second place is Apocalypse Now, and yes I own a 6105)
Fuck off. It´s a patriotic movie through and through, just not like you think it is. It rightly tells about how stupid and cruel the regime is, but also portrays the grit and bravery of the crew. Das Boot is a war movie first and foremost, and it could be about an American bomber crew, or a Britisch Dreadnought in WWI, or even a Marine troop like in Generation Kill, showing how oftentimes boring, sometimes horrible, and occasionally even entertaining war is.
That is...not a bad review. But almost no other war movies are honest like that.

Man you got some great ones in there. Forgot about half these.
Surprised Silence of the Lambs isn't on this thread yet considering it's one of the best phycological horror films ever made.
SB for Raw. Have you seen Titane?
Requiem for a dream.
Hell No!
Sixth Sense
The Others
Shutter island
Uncut Gems
Gone Girl
Mulholland Drive
Black Swan
Ex Machina
Jacobs Ladder
Rosemarys Baby
Almost had a stroke watching Uncut Gems from the peripheral anxiety. Sandler is talented af
It's really bizarre. First you think you know what's going on, then you don't.
the others has a really good twist. I still have to check out shutter island
Goodfellas - my most favorite movie of all time hands down
For psychological horror, anything by David Lynch is greatly worth a watch. Highly recommend Blue Velvet if you've never seen anything by him, and Twin Peaks is a TV show but easily of movie quality and one of the best TV shows of all time.
Great username, great recommends. DFW FTW, as always.
A lot of Mel Gibson films
Work your way through the IMDB 100
Alien, The Thing, Event Horizon. It's a long list, but these are at the top.
Martyrs by Pascal Laugier. Thank me later. Once you've watched that, then I have a whole list of French Extremity to rec.
sorcerers stone lmfao
A few gritty movies I watched recently and enjoyed:
City of God
Kids (Harmony Korine)
Thank me later.
city of god is good. +1
not seen it in like 15 years so my tastes may have changed.
I didn't think too much of kids but do like the candidness of it all.
Kids is like a blast from the past... remember the skateboarding scene at Washington Square Park? That's how it was back then....
Some Spanish teacher in high school showed us city of god. good movie
Pretty much anything Michael Mann
Heat is a masterpiece!
Rear Window, Goodfellas, Rocky, Good Will Hunting, Silver Linings Playbook, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Back to the Future are my favorites
You mean Rocky IV, right? LOL
Oldboy, Visitor Q, Ichi the Killer, and Audition are my go to psychological thrillers
12 Angry Men, Rain man, Scent of a Woman, Casablanca, Forrest Gump, Titanic, Fighter, Batman Series (the ones by Nolan), Oceans 11, Pretty Woman, Lawrence of Arabia.
And yeah Rocky 1. After that, everyone became a familiar script.
You recommended so many good movies, that's great! Now I can have a good evening at home.
