Best 'team building' zoom activities
We're now struggling to keep 'team socials' on zoom calls exciting. Some things that have worked for us are playing virtual poker against each other and an at-home scavanger hunt, any better ideas?

How about not forcing awkward social activities over video chat?
Another section of my bank (reserach side) has happy hours all the time but my IB side doesn't. How do I convince them to have social awkward encounters with each other? There are more girls in the reserch side so want to get them involved so it's not all bruhs. Also, nice to be with the girls.
I've never really bothered much with social events beyond things every quarter or semi-annually for the teams working 80+ hours, which I'm assuming your IB team is? I think if you're already spending that much time together, then it's a little asinine to ask them to give up family time, gym, life stuff time etc... to play poker with you on Zoom.

Games like trivia, pictionary, codenames are fine. Any Zoom team building is going to suck but at least those are all moderately enjoyable.
zoom socials suck...the best way to do them...is to tell everybody...zoom socials suck..so we're not going to be Muppets...we're just not going to do them
warzone tbh
never felt more willing to revise my associate's comments at 2 in the morning after he clutched out and bought me back in cod
I always value time with my personal life over forced events that are not work related but forced by work. I don’t understand the appeal of weekly happy hours and such. I get the annual company party, but not forcing me to give up my Friday nights consistently.
With that said, I enjoy playing Codenames with friends.
We’ve had better luck keeping it to 20–25 minutes with small breakout teams. Rotate quick trivia, Pictionary on the Zoom whiteboard, and a “guess the coworker” photo round. A meme-caption contest is easy too, and on heavy weeks we do an async photo prompt during the day, then a short highlights call with a small prize.
We also tried an interactive missions app for teams to run quick, themed challenges with a live feed and points, and it was the least awkward option so far. People joined on their phones as guests, setup took minutes.
