Best way to kill time?

Between churning comments, waiting for model, or your have 10 minutes before your associate comes in, what are some of the more interesting and unique ways you have found to kill time? I know there is little time to kill, so I want to make it entertaining and I think that I haven't found what could be the best.
I know that studying for a lateral or the GMAT are likely candidates, but recently I found out that a coworker has an over 700 day wordle streak - that was cool imo. Would love to know if you have anything interesting.

Most people these days are largely illiterate. No one reads anymore. Everyone floats between thinking they have to optimize every second of every day or spends hours doomscrolling social media.

Get yourself some books, ebooks, or audio books (both fiction and nonfiction) and go to town.

Exact same thing here - love my books, but I like to sit and get engrossed in them. This mainly applies to fiction in my experience, particularly high fantasy and mystery.

Don't read as much non-fiction but I do typically find it easier to read it in short sessions (aside from PPE related stuff which, I much prefer reading it in long stretches). Meditations is one of those but also not my cup of tea if I'm trying to kill time haha.

I like scrolling on arxiv and reading random papers bc no one can tell from a distance that bs maths on the screen is describing idk protein synthesis instead of exotics pricing (and it doesn’t raise any flags in s&t)

You read articles about protein synthesis for fun?

...but is it REPE?

I do some work on markov chains and it's a neat piece of math(s) that describes most things around so I get to broadly understand what the papers say but in a new context. Protein synthesis (drew 2001 is the paper I'm thinking of) is a new interest but it can extend to idk law or international relations and more qualitative stuff so I don't become illiterate.

Super lucky to work on a desk where all of these probably help me become better at my job so it's a form of professional procrastination (i.e I read some random paper on the data science of ads or smth and got inspo for a new coding project for the desk).

Super unlucky in that I sit next to my md and the head of gcm can see my screens so I'm on my best behaviour...

Stupid thing, but if you enjoy the NBA you might like this: eraball.com

You basically just draft a roster across different teams and eras, which is then put through a simulation. Goal is to try getting the nastiest team as possible basically. It's similar to 82-0, if you've heard of it, but miles better if you genuinely follow the NBA. 82-0 is just trying to roll to get the best raw stats possible, whereas era ball has tags on each player. For example, drafting MJ and Pippen together will get you a boost on each of them. There also tags for other things offensive, defensive anchors, sixth man, floor general, etc.

Another fun thing is doing Anki. You can basically memorise anything you want, and 10m stretches are perfect for this kinda thing. Fun replacement to a mobile game/scrolling and you can choose to do it for whatever you want. I've been doing the ultimate geography deck - set of every country, capital and map.
