Know it all prestige whore incels on this site, unfortunately a growing population

That's true and definitely translates to the job. One of the reasons I am happy I chose CorpCredit (originally real estate analyst). The people for the most part were chill, some of my other internships though had me meet the most prestige obsessed people I ever met. (not saying corp finance does not have that but it is just mostly people with a bunch of strange quirks)

 

1st year analyst in my group (east coast MM). Guy lies about the most insane shit and is a massive prestige whore. Name drops random celebrities he "knows", claims to have made millions in the market while in college (yet finds an excuse to not show his pnl), says he's interviewing with MF PE / HF's on a weekly basis, bad mouths sr bankers behind their backs, will straight up just make up shit to make himself part of a conversation, etc.

I'm so confused about how he got through life like this / why his parents raised him this way. Interacting with him is painful.
