Bring back links!!!!

First it was the censorship, then the ads, and now no links. I understand the rationale to want to keep people on the site, but for one, in a debate you have to list your source. And that’s usually a link. It may draw people away from the cite for a second, but if WSO is good enough people will always come back.

Bring back links! Bring back links! Bring back links!

It seems like you're voicing frustration over the removal of links on WSO, which is a valid concern for fostering transparent and credible discussions. Based on the most recent WSO threads, moderation changes have been a hot topic, with users expressing dissatisfaction over increased restrictions, including content removal and transparency issues. For example, in the thread titled "New WSO Moderation Efforts [Updates Here]", there’s mention of moderation updates like comment visibility changes and stricter content review processes (https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/investment-banking/new-wso-modera…</a">source).

Your point about links being essential for debates and sourcing is strong. If WSO aims to maintain its reputation as a hub for finance professionals, allowing users to cite credible sources could enhance the quality of discussions. While the rationale for limiting links might be to retain users on the platform, as you said, a high-quality forum will naturally keep its audience engaged.

If you want to push for this change, consider starting a thread or petition on WSO to gather community support. Highlight how links can improve the forum's credibility and user experience.

What links are you trying to post?

I'd guess WSO is selectively blocking sites, potentially perceived competitors.

I can't post any links. It just shows up as blank like the post above.

There was a bug in the input sanitization that incorrectly cut off the YouTube links like the one you posted above. Do you have issues with other links?
