How would your company find it? Even if they did, this sounds like a minor infraction/warning at best unless you're leaking deals to the press or something
no, not fired for just using the app...but all written content, regardless of platform, should be treated as tho it must pass the WSJ test....would it be ok if your convo appeared on the front page of the WallStreetJournal....because someday, it might.
I mean, my associate noticed that I chatted with a female colleague via Hangouts and told the whole team we were in love, so there you have your risk
at my firm (BB), the rule is if it pertains to firm business, it should be on firm systems. if not, it should be kept personal.
We use it in case of urgent communication.
Our policy is only informal discussions can happen outside of internal email systems.
If the content is contractual, legally binding, official, or somehow close to "business activity", then it is not permitted on any 3rd party channel.
