Here's a pretty cool video on why you should invest in Gold over keeping your cash.

Funny how the legendary investors are shown as buying gold in the present tense.
This is obviously a marketing tool for a bullion dealer but, does anyone still buy the gold story?
Is it really overplayed?
Or does gold still have a long way to go?
Either way, despite its meteoric rise over the years it's been taking a beating since December, but with the Euro and the Dollar looking to go nowhere but down and inflation still seeming to be the theme for 2011, there could be more upside to it.
I'm personally staying away from it though, things are looking better at the soft commodities side.

Uhh....the argument, "Would you rather stash your money in a vault and not touch it or keep gold?" is a clear straw man argument. There are many other investment strategies that have higher yields than holding pure gold in the long run - straight up index funds out perform gold.

Nice video. But I still think gold is better for preserving capital, not gaining a whole lot.
Agreed. Last year it was good as a source of returns. This year it is nothing more than a currency hedge. You know the market is hot when GLD holds more gold than the China.
