CDN Schools

This isn't a 'rank this!" thread, but rather one where the members say what program and institute they are/have studied at in Canada. Optionally, you can give a small line about ambitions and resume experience.

I will keep updating the list in the first post.

McGill: BA Economics - zeakman; Ambition: career iBanker (VP then MD)

Queen's: Commerce - lever up; Field: IB or S&T, still thinking it through

Richard Ivey:

Schulich: MBA - Weaponized Cum; IB

U of T:

Waterloo: CS/Business - Toronto

as for ambitions well I wana be a career ibanker meaning staying on as VP onwards and hopefully making MD

Looks like you can't edit the first post in a thread so I'll keep the list in this post >.;;

McGill: BA Economics - zeakman; Ambition: career iBanker (VP then MD)

Queen's: Commerce - lever up; Field: IB or S&T, still thinking it through

Richard Ivey:

Schulich:

Rotman/U of T:

Wilfrid Laurier: Math/Business Double Degree with U of W - Toronto

To add to that, the progression of positions in an investment bank typically goes Analyst -> Associate -> vice president -> MD and then from there it depends on if it is a partnership or a public bank or a division of a bigger bank etc.

Schulich:

MBA with a focus on finance

Resume experience:

1 year as a treasury analyst (I was in charge of maintaining the hedge effectiveness for the CDO/CMO/CFO portfolio)

2 years as CFO of a small start up (I left the banking world in 2008 since my division was sold off and my job becuase sending off 3 emails in the morning to the company who bought us and then watching youtube videos for the rest of the day)

1 year as a capital markets associate (came back to banking in 2010 once the market improved and the startup was sold)
