Clean shaving vs trimming with a beard trimmer?

Dumb question I know. Will be starting FT soon and 99% of the time I trim my facial hair with a beard trimmer. Clean shaving increases my likelihood of breaking out and not a fan of random cuts. Is it okay to have a beard trimmer shave look and not a clean shave look?

Context: going into IB

Not sure what location you are in. But am in London and use beard trimmer to have a close trim but if crushed will let it grow until I get the time to trim it again. Unless you work in a super uptight team, no will comment on facial hair nowadays.

As long as you can pull off the look, not a problem at all. People will not notice unless you look really scruffy, and honestly about half the FT class looks like that after a few months anyway. Make sure you are otherwise clean - i.e. hair is well styled and cut frequently

Everyone has different reasons for breaking out, but for me I realized that diet was a large portion. After cutting out processed sugar and dairy, it was totally different. I prefer a clean shave since it trims the top layer of dead skin off, keeping your face young. That being said, a beard trimmer works too. Cheers & Good Luck!
