Kinda hoping this is a troll. 1.) Yes, short-term - our plans are wrecked, but I don't see a need to throw away your original career plans. Do what interests you and what you're good at. Restructuring will do well now but other industries like PE and M&A will recover. Do what you have to to survive in the short-term (in other words, don't go into restructuring just cuz of Covid but a restructuring job is better than no job)

2.) E-learning is what it is. Hardly the worst thing anyone's faced though.

3.) Networking is still very much feasible. Zoom coffee chats, phone call... so far I've found people actually have more free time to talk. my uni held mock super days through zoom where students rotated between interviews with two to three alum each. People are still willing to help...

Hope I've stated the obvious. Keep your head up, this will pass. Don't lose focus cuz of this crummy situation. Don't let writing networking off as "impossible" take you out of the game

this crisis will go on for years, not months. a recession like this is never happened.

networking by phone call?! yeah, I do it. but cmon let's be serious, is way more time consuming and it completely cut off the passional part. thanks to beers to create a connection. thanks to partying.

choosing a master degree in economics is radically different from same quantitative, programming or mathematical stuff. in particular, only thanks to stat, math, programming u can work at home seriously. u can be used from lots of firms.

I have a great network and I am quite confident. but this is not the point. here we all should "restructure" our plans.

I have graduated in advance and lost a fucking intern in GS M&A for this fucking virus. now I need to cohabit with this virus, I have spent one month to study this situation and now I am sure that this kind of live will be our new normal. thanks God I live close to some chicks....

Europe, in a shitty country.

July? impossible, the found of a vaccine is esteemed in 12/18m and the production/distribution of mass will takes other months....

china came back to lockdown ...

You sound like you're at a top tier masters program. Cheers!
