Rely on CCs? Why do you feel sorry for those people? You get a bunch of points that you can use for benefits or cash. You may indirectly pay for this (or directly if you have a card with fees) but that’ll be the case unless enough people don’t use cards and vendors can lower prices (and they won’t).
