Dana White - A Proper News Cacophony

If you didn't read, Dana White got into a scuffle with his wife on vacation. In a video posted by TMZ, Dana White's wife slaps him, and he slaps her back. Not a lot of news coverage on it given what's happening in Buffalo.

Not looking to start a thread war here, but I'm torn how to feel. In 2019, White said "you don't come back from hitting a woman". He's right. Point blank. You don't hit a woman let alone anyone. In the same note, his wife slapped him. Symptoms of domestic violence. Didn't see 1 tweet condemning her for violence against him. Domestic violence against males (although rare) is not given the same look as violence against women. Equal right = equal fights? I don't know. I don't want to say I'm woke but in an equal world, does that mean violence is equal as well? Should he stay on as UFC boss? I'm a huge Dana White fan, and the sport would suffer massively without him. Thoughts?

Mrs. White got $5k for the appearance, no performance bonus.

I don't know who threw hands first (footage is kind of crap) but I don't think that's particularly important. I don't believe as a man you should hit a woman unless you are facing a genuine threat to your or someone else's safety (e.g. you see a woman attacking a child or you're breaking up a fight). From a moral perspective I see it as categorically wrong and from a PR angle it's never going to turn out in the man's favor. It's almost guaranteed that alcohol was involved and the decision-making of 1 or both parties was impaired, otherwise I can't imagine he's dumb enough to do something like this and further risk his already controversial image. This was his wife, in a night club, surrounded by other people - there was no real threat to his or anyone else's safety aside from arguably his wife's. He ostensibly has his own security not terribly far away and if it really mattered he could've had them remove her instead of escalating.

In all seriousness, Dana is undoubtedly a scummy guy, just look how he abuses some of the UFC fighters in terms of compensation/rights compared to other promotions like ONE. I don't think it's relevant to point out whether or not the sport would be where it is today without him (which is true), because it's here now so that's just obfuscating the argument at hand. Frankly, only thing surprising about this story IMO is that he was spending NY with his wife and not another prostitute or female fighter.

I could never understand why men who have any amount of muscle mass could give a S about a woman hitting them. Dana, you're fine man, I promise. She could have layed bows into you for a minute straight and you could've ate them, minimal harm. Kind of a joke these guys who claim to be fighters immediately lose their cool in emotional situations, but that's proly the PED's. Overall scumbag look -- from someone who didn't even really watch UFC but liked Dana for his 0 fawks persona. This was a terrible look. Fck any guy that will reciprocate into physically harming women, especially when it's petty fists or better yet an open-hand slap. Pussy.
