Dating in IB

This may seem a little unneeded but really important question. I will probably work in New York as my school is right here and I have ties. I really don’t like east-coastish girls however. I like laidback cali girls or southern belles. One thing I’ve noticed is my classmates have begun dating, but even my guy friends are settling for the types we would have laughed at 4 years ago. Not to get into the dating market too much, but does the mixture of pressure from IB, hardo culture bc most marry a women in finance, and the general tryhard vibe of New York lead to this. I probably will move out of east coast the moment I can, but I do like thought of one day sending my kids to Deerfield or Thayer in Boston

Use Paragraphs.

Is this a constant stream of your conscious thought? Or are you drunk?

As with lots of places, you date in NYC there are a lot of your typical east coast girls. Your friends have ended up with them as they are the majority. Its numbers.

Yeah, IB in NYC definitely messes with dating. Long hours and the work culture push people to date within finance just out of convenience. A lot of guys settle because it’s easier than trying to meet someone outside the bubble. If you’re into Cali girls or Southern belles, you’ll have to be intentional—either long-distance, traveling, or finding social circles outside of work. If you know you want out of the East Coast eventually, don’t sweat it too much. Just don’t get caught up in the IB dating autopilot.

Lol, I love it

There are laid back cali types and southern belles in NYC who want to live/work in the city and experience something different for a bit, and maybe meet a hot rich ideally not autistic banker ;)

I’d suggest befriending someone at work who attended a top state school in the west coast/south like Texas, UCLA, etc. and then they can introduce you to their single friends in the city. You can also just download hinge lol

Go get ‘em champ

Good luck.
