Does anyone actually like their job?

After first couple months on the desk, noticed that like 90% of people I work with (and people outside of my firm) do not like finance. Regardless if you’re doing mundane pitching or getting railed from a live deal, I feel like most people do not actually like the job (or finance for that matter).

Not sure if this is from having to recruit two years in advance, aspects of the job (despite knowing these would exist when signing up) wear down on you quicker than you think, or if we’re all just soft (likely not this but who knows). There’s also the case that many people use this as a stepping stone for another career and when that career doesn’t seem like it’ll have better WLB (buyside) then people want out.

Curious what you all think.
