My firm allows us to deal in ETFs in our PA without approval/limits. I was wondering if anyone trades ETFs (specifically levered) intraday to make a bit of extra cash?
I have my own terminal and so have all the data I need available to me to inform trading decisions.
I think it makes more sense to prioritize OPM when you are at work, as the reward potential is greater. I manage swing trading positions outside of work and that is not too hard, the positions last weeks and don't require constant attention. I think it makes more mathematical sense to trade the largest possible account you can access as a professional. If your personal account is larger and more lucrative to trade during work hours, then you might not need to be there.
Good point, maybe swing trading is the way to go rather than managing intraday positions - which can obviously be difficult if in and out of meetings etc

It is true. I'm also a dude who ran a small business while working a W-9 for a couple years largely from work lol.
Day trading, as in enter and exit within same day, is near impossible due having an actual job and compliance

Fair point re managing time, compliance isn’t an issue at the moment though due to no need for pre-approval for levered ETFs
I thought I was the only one. Yes, I trade levered ETFs actively no compliance issues as long as it’s the big ETFs UPRO TQQQ QLD SSO. Also do crypto of course freely on the side.
Good to see someone else with same thoughts. I’m the same with crypto due to it being out of reach with compliance. Do you day trade ETFs or let them run for longer?
Swing trades work better but honestly in this market and probably at least the rest of the year you’re better off with buy and hold
