Door-to-door sales

Has anyone ever done door-to-door sales? I know this is an IB thread, but just wanted to see if anyone has had XP with this, or has had a friend do it.

I’ve heard of kids making nearly $250k in a little over 5 months solely from doing door-to-door with pest control or solar.

Just wanna know if this is on any of your radars

You’re an IB associate and you’re thinking about door to door sales? Why?

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

I did door to door in college as a way to make an extra buck and pay for my tuition. I set appointments for solar in Utah for about a year and a half before I started internships. Over the first year I worked around 12 hours a week and sold just over $1m. I was one of the top door knockers at the company and pulled in about 50k with a 10k bonus and an all inclusive trip to Mexico. Great while going to school full time, but the job is mentally exhausting and an absolute hustle. A 50 hour work week behind a desk is 30x easier than 15 hours of getting doors slammed in your face. I knew of final closers making around 300k but like I said it’s a brutal job. I learned good people skills though and thought it was a positive experience overall while in school.
