Dopamine Detox

Curious what people's experiences have been with dopamine detoxing or dopamine fasting. Of course you can't totally fast from a naturally occurring chemical in the brain. What can one do to control what they can? Any specific routines? All thoughts welcome.

I tried doing one where I meditated for most of the day for 3 days straight. Ended up basically sleeping through most of it but afterwards the urge to check my phone/ any other previous instinctive habit was greatly reduced.

Simply getting off social media would have incredible effects for most people. I personally don't go on it at all as much as possible. Maybe 5 mins a day maximum and it's the best thing I have done to improve my focus and productivity.

Jerk off, it will get rid of the excess dopamine that's rushing in your head. Then you will be back to steady-state levels.

I went to a different country and lived in the woods for a year. When I came back to society, it was like Back to the Future II.
