Warren would never select Bernie. There is no advantage to Warren selecting someone fully to her left. If she wins the nomination, she'll select someone more moderate. She has banked so hard to the left during the primary that she will need someone to even out her ticket. I doubt her running mate would be anyone who has been running for president currently.
Here's the thing with Warren--I don't believe she is as left-wing as she has been putting out there. Her entire career she was a thoughtful, center-left liberal. I just don't believe that in the last 5-7 years she has had a progressive reawakening. That just doesn't seem plausible.
I'm not even sure how this is up for debate. What you said is incredibly obvious.
I find it interesting that even the right wingers can see this about her. I generally feel that she will have a Clinton problem if she wins the nom.
Also it isn't just about him being left wing for the ticket. In no situation strategically does it make ANY sense for Warren (or Sanders) to have the other on the ticket and remove them from Senate where they would each be each other's best ally.

I think warren would do very well in the general and likely win. She has a folksy vibe to her, which will help her in the upper Midwest states Hillary lost. In the last debate when she was talking about farmers and American workers and shit it came across as pretty genuine, so I think she can break the “costal elite” vibe Hillary had last election (despite warren representing Mass).
This is probably correct. She has a much better change against Trump than Bernie does.
Trump would/will trounce Warren.
The fact of the matter is, she would not have her standing in life, would not have the recognition to run for president, if she did not abuse the affirmative action system. That is an issue that will resonate deeply with white downtrodden rust belt voters.
And Trump wouldn't have anywhere close to what he has in life without the continuous cycle of transferred wealth. This doesn't seem like a big sticking point imo. She will struggle and it will be close (whereas I believe it would be a layup with Sanders/Biden) but I think she would barely eek it out.
Edit: Also, that is not what the "downtrodden rest belt workers" care about. People like that don't spend their time thinking about things like that. They want to be able to provide for their family and return to a life they once had.
