Eyes wide shut type parties

I have been invited to variety of comparable parties in the past. These happen most often in societies or circles of friends where there is less religious attachment, more open dating, more often in cities (but they do happen in suburbs as well), more with couples without children, and more often through acquaintances rather than close friends or clients or colleagues.

It is normally expected that attending couples are real couples, but more often than not they just attend as a couple while they are in an open relationship or not even dating. A friend does these parties all the time and has a girl he takes with him to gain access.

It is not always an orgy, but is somewhat implied that you have sex in front of others or that you are watching others having sex. The alternative are parties where the men or women are paired up with others and then they disappear to a séparée.

Pretty common all over California. If you seek it, you will find it.

When I lived in Salt Lake my roomate and his girlfriend used to go to parties like that up in the hills, masks and all. The dark side of the Mormons exists...

Where I am from, 75-100,000 person city in the south, these sort of things were not unheard of. In HS my parents used to share the country club gossip about the sex parties local "big hitters" got involved in. Was a direct overlap between the "fun parents" who let us have people over and the "sex club" parents. 

Am I the only one who thinks this is just gross?

Go to literally any bar where there are people over 40 and you will be hit on by couples into this lifestyle.

there are specific websites where you can learn about people organizing parties in your area and connect with them, or find another couple for swing. just google "swinger parties in my area" or smth like that. it's not as fun as you might think, but give it a try just to know for sure if it's your thing. usually it's not like everybody is fucking at the same time and having a time of their life. it's more like guys talk to girls, or couples to couples, and if girls are interested either go to separate rooms or have fun in common area, but you can't just pull out your dick and join like that, cause the girl hasn't given you consent. usually girls fuck somebody who they already know, usually organizers of the party and their close friends. so if you're coming there for the first time and your game is not really good, you will probably not fuck anybody. I would recommend to start with swing and just connect with other couples, and then you can start organizing your parties if you really like it.

I generally don't like strip clubs or anything like that either, but have been dragged along to them by bankers in NYC playing thousands for bottle service for everyone. 

One time my friend told me to go to this party in NYC and there was a door password and I got in and it was St. Venus Theater. I do admit the girls were pretty hot (all the girls were basically topless) and it seemed like a classy affair. 

Sure, they exist. Depends on the city tbh. In France, especially in Paris, there are dozens of these parties every week. It's usually for extremely classy/ attractive girls and wealthy/influential guys so it's not like you could get into the high-end ones as a nobody, but one might get lucky. From what I've heard, it's a unique experience but definitely have to be open minded

I have good friends who have done things like this, but there's no masks, just secrecy and a vetting process. without exception, all grew weary of it and stopped frequenting them.
