F1 Car Performance Gap
Anyone else find it really depressing that Russell was sick in qualifying last week in the Mercedes, but is the third slowest driving in the Williams.

I do think it would be nice if the Mercs were slightly less dominant and Williams was more competitive, but other than that, I actually think the field is a pretty solid span this year. More podium finishers than in recent years and a lot of exciting races IMO. Very good competition in the middle. Younger drivers will always have to put their time in at lower table teams before making a jump to the big ones, and Russell has proven he’s got the quality to make that move.
As an addendum, I think Bottas would’ve caught Russell if not for the safety car and pit stop. He was gaining 0.5 seconds per lap and had fresher tires. But still an impressive drive
