The second you touch a police officer it's harassment of a police officer. When you run a cop's foot over, it's assaulting a police officer (possibly with a deadly weapon in this case.) Not only is it the rich dude's fault, but he's gonna get the living shit kicked out of him when the cameras go away. Notice the friendly police officer in the back of the car with him.

Not saying this is right or wrong on an ethical basis.Just putting the facts on the table.

The good news is that by the time rich dude's legal team is done, he'll probably only get convicted of disorderly conduct, or something like that.

He tried to leave before receiving a physical copy of the ticket -- no offense at all. If written, it is still valid and will be sent to your home address.

He tried to leave by going around the officer -- the officer then moved purposefully in front of the vehicle. The driver tried to go around even further, at which point the officer started screaming about how his foot was run over ... yet he managed to stand, walk, run, and kick the ass of the driver all in perfectly fine form with no display of physical pain.

This demonstrates that there was no intent to harm the officer. Without intent, it is not assault. This is not assault of an officer.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

Motorcycle + Cover + 4th Amendment > Diplomatic Immunity for NYC parking.

But seriously, NYC is the only city in the country where the police officer won't walk away if you get to the car before he finishes writing the ticket.

Something needs to be done about that. We need to be a friendlier city. On the first three tickets for no-standing-zone violations, you should get a 70% discount on the ticket if you move the car before the officer walks away. And the officer should walk away if it's simply a parking violation. Raise the fines by 10% to cover it and let's just be a slightly more merciful city.

This is such bullshit on the cop's part. He stands in front of the car because he knows that his foot will get run over and he can pull this shit. This is gross misuse of power by the cop. He caused the situation to occur and then arrested the guy? Go fuck yourself honestly. The dude wasn't being detained and he was free to go, so when the cop stood in front of his car, what is the guy supposed to do? This is absolutely ridiculous and will never hold up in court.

Drive on the curb, or if he's being a true ass and getting far enough over to block that, head fake him like you're going to drive on the curb and pull around streetside.

But yeah, don't run over the guy's foot. Even if he is an ass. Having a car tire travel over your foot hurts like hell.

Or get out of the car and casually stand in front of your license plate if he's blocking you. Good luck getting my plate now, jagoff.

You can blatantly see in the video that his foot doesn't get run over. If you go to 0:17, you can watch the scumbag cop put his foot in front of the tire after saying "You're running over my foot" He's a fucking pig and the driver isn't even slightly in the wrong. I agree though, that he should have tried to go up on the curve to get past the cop, but that's kind of hard in a ferrari that's so low to the ground. Quite frankly it disgusts me that a cop pulled this shit and I hope the dude goes hard with a lawsuit for time and damages.

Nice trustfunder douchebag boyfriend Stephanie Pratt's got there. If he had some sense he'd explain to the cop that hes parked legally within the hotels valet zone or just take the fucking $30 ticket. But never having worked a day in his life he probably has issues communicating with others cant think rationally.

Anyways both the driver and the cop are complete douches.

The driver is just a retard for getting anywhere near this situation. Should have just waited the douche out. Right? Maybe not. Practical? Zing.

I don't think most of the people on this forum have had many unpleasant experiences with cops. Let me put it this way.

Authority figures > The constitution.

I've seen 5 cops beat a 14 year old to a bloody pulp in front of two dozen witnesses, because he said the words "Go fuck yourself." He was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

Basic rule of thumb: Cops can do whatever the fuck they want.
