FLOORED the movie

Anyone have any speculations on "FLOORED" the movie.

It's about the transition of open outcry traders on the Chicago Board of trade and the transition thats taking place to electronic trading. Is this another stupid documentary? Or does this have some actual merrit.

Yay/Nay?

Watch the trailers for yourself.

Well the premise of the movie is correct; traders are definitely moving out of the pits and onto the screen. Whether or not the doc is well made is anyone's guess.

I've seen the movie. It is not technical at all, pretty much shows all the traders as being blue collar d'bags with no education, then shows how they have been crushed and trashed because "dem fancy devil boxes with all them internets are breakin our tradin, they is". Some of the guys are glorified for making epic $$$ but mostly its about how they are all stupid failures.

I thought it was a snobby pos movie that was barely worth a watch. It's nice to get a little more insight into open outcry trading but the movie goes maaaaaaybe a teeensy bit more in depth than wall street warriors, aka not worth much.

Still not sure if I want to spend the next 30+ years grinding away in corporate finance and the WSO dream chase or look to have enough passive income to live simply and work minimally.

The one dude that was permanently drunk was ridiculous. Wonder what his story was.
