Follow The Money.
Hey everybody. So i'm doing so research about where big money is made. Any info is good info. So if you give some advice on how to find out where or which market makes the largest amount of money is coming from, it would be great. For example: in 2006/2007 = Large amounts of money was being made from Housing Market. Where do you believe is the largest amount of money from today? Thanks for the help.
Energy.
Yeah, energy. Like gas and oil
The amount of money in gas (specifically shale formations) is ridiculous at the moment.
caveat: when it's already making big money .. it may no longer be making big money by the time you get around to entering this market.
it always changes. you succeed in finance by knowing the next money making instrument/market/strategy before the majority others
Thanks guys. It good to have a starting point to know as to where to look in the right direction. Now I have to figure out is who besides the oil & gas companies is also raking in the big bucks? Cheers.
Technology lol, software companies have huge margins. There is also a large failure rate if their products don't get picked up, but we are in Tech 2.0 right now so there will be a collapse at some point since the innovative technology is not as valuable as say getting computers into the homes of every family, and every business as was the 80s/90s.
I guess it depends on the area of tech, I dont think the whole industry can even be put under one umbrella anymore. Read an interesting article about backing mobile payments companies. This one hasnt turned a profit yet and its up against giants who have acquired smaller companies, but it is seen as an expert in a sub-sector thats poised for massive growth.. http://www.google.com/finance?q=monitise
Excellent point. Most Energy firms are probably overvalued at the minute due to M&A speculation.
Oil and Gas now, solar and wind later
You're joking right?
How are two industries which are so inextricably linked and reliant on government subsidies and who still can't survive with said subsidies going to fare in the open market. They've had ample opportunity to become efficient.
