“To limit infections among drug users, the Biden administration is creating a $30 million grant program for non-profits to buy crack pipes and other drug paraphernalia for addicts.”

And this country will continue to have health crisis after health crisis as long as the debate naturally gravitates to memes and shitposts

but whatever, I’ll just wait til it affects your own family and friends before you change your views on harm reduction

This is obviously nepotism but to avoid COI issues for enabling his son's parmesan habit he gets to masquerade it as a public health initiative.

Minorities aren't smoking enough crack! We simply must do our civic duty and make it easier for them. Well done progressives taking the lead on this extremely pressing issue, well done.

Personally I think this is a big shiny distraction to divert attention away from the new DHS bulletin which redefined terrorism as:

“the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions.”

As if the half-dead geriatric in the White House isn't doing more than enough to undermine public trust. What a joke.

I think one can't complain about half-dead geriatrics considering the previous president and his various hospital trips.

Many European countries have done a similar thing with their drug policies and it's worked fairly well. By providing a safe place to do drugs, it actually ends up reducing drug usage rates.

Aren't those closer to methadone clinics than what's being described here? These seem closer to needle "exchange" programs, which have been disastrous in the West Coast cities that have tried them. Also, wealthy high trust Western European ethnostates probably aren't a great comp for policymaking in America. Singapore has a ton of success via beating the shit out of people with sticks but i'm not sure if that would work here either.
