What are you looking for?
Shoreditch and Hackney are really cool areas - fit girls, fun things to do (trendy bars, shopping etc). Not lowkey areas at all anymore but still great to live in - filled with creatives.
Angel is nice. Close proximity to the city and Shoreditch/Hackney.
West London - look at Mayfair, Marylebone, broader South Kensington area. More expensive. Lots of nice restaurants, area looks aesthetic. Traditional richer areas of London.
Shoreditch is a shithole
i bet you’re the type of lame to go out in soho
facts.... it's very diverse
Angel, a nice place? Only good thing is that you can walk to Islington + can just about walk to the City. Otherwise it’s just one big traffic jam.
Some areas of Angel are shit but there’s great proximity to the northern line and housing is affordable. Most areas will have some shitholes bar certain areas of west
thank you very much!
Thank you very much! Guess I prefer west London as well
You can always move to Croydon
thank you very much!!!
South of CW (Isle of Dogs) is actually decent these days but can feel a little soulless.
The area between London Bridge and Waterloo can also be nice.
Canary Wharf is actually pretty good value for the money, if you stay within 10-15 minute walk to the station (Blackwall, South Quay). You get a brand new flat with massive gym, pool, cinema, etc. all for ~70% of the price of a shitty, small and old flat in West London.
Will add East London. Going eastwards:
West Ham to about Barking and Dagenham (this includes areas like East Ham and Upney) - busy sh1tholes, good transport links and buses tho, houses fairly cheaper considering its a London borough. These are zone 4/5 on the tube so not terrible transport costs. Always a good social buzz tho depending on the area + transport links mean you can get anywhere (including night buses)
Elm Park to Upminster (this includes areas like Hornchurch and Gidea Park) - quieter and generally nicer areas, housing ofc more expensive but transport links not as good as the areas in the para above (fewer buses generally). Zone 6 now so a little more expensive too. Close enough to the world renowned sh1thole called Romford - which does have good nightlife and tfl rail straight into Liverpool street and London.
Feel free to PM if you're looking to meet and get familiar with the area, happy to help!
thank you very much!! still a new user here, let me figure out how to PM you :D
No idea how senior you are or how much you’re willing to spend on rent but would generally recommend West London (South Kensington, Gloucester Road, Chelsea, Belgravia) if you want a nice fancy place). See a lot of younger folks living in new developments in areas like Elephant and Castle, Nine Elms, Battersea. Islington or Angel is also not bad though slightly edgier. Shoreditch, Hackney feel too grimey for me so would avoid that. Look at google maps and draw a rectangle with your four corner points being Notting Hill (North West), Battersea (South West), Islington (North East), Bermondsey (South East). I would stay within this box..
Thank you very much!!
Why would you subject yourself to living in east london when you're on a finance salary... do yourself a favour and live in south west/west (srs). I do agree with the above comments about st john's wood or hampstead being good options too tho.
Pretty surprised with the amt of ppl saying PM if you wna meet up. Can be tough in a new city or just lonely in general if you’re always working so that’s encouraging. Maybe one day there should be a London WSO meet up (if it isn’t awkward af..)
I am also surprised by how friendly people are here, haha.
Hope we could have a Facebook group or WhatsApp group sort of thing for networking / information exchange

its because its a female. these cucks sniffed out the first bit of punani they've had the opportunity to interact with in years and jumped at the chance to meet IRL.
Lmao I didn’t notice. Fk this world.
Not me, I'm gay 😎
But it would be the first bit of punani I've had in years so you're not wrong there
Lmao simps are pathetic
depends how much you make and what % of your take home you're willing to spend. and what quality of place you're looking for.
I was in hackney yesterday and theres just too much pollution from traffic. nice places near there like broadway market. I was looking at a house near Hackney a few months ago but opted for a larger property a bit further out, somewhere much quieter - I've lived in busy parts of town and its just a nightmare if you have to commute.
most professionals in the city live in borough in my experience.
tbf there are some pretty good prices there at the moment probably due to covid- https://www.zoopla.co.uk/to-rent/property/borough-the/#listing_59920308
you'd be looking at about £2k a month for a decent 1 bed there which should be 30-40% of your basic take home at your level? you'd walk over the bridge to get in to the city
Thank you!
My budget is £2.4K for rent. Safety and near to office is top priority:)
Also would be great if there are nice cafes and bars.
an easy way to make friends would be to get a room in a house share (look on spare room.com), if you look near the city youll find houses with people in similar fields to share with - law, medicine, sales etc. in zone 1-2 you'd be looking at around £1k - 1.5k for a room share and bills of £100-200.
