Grit, Angela Duckworth

What do people think of this book? Was it good, or just a typical cringe bestseller sellout. Heard that her actual academic research on grit was good, just that she decided to cash out this book on the self-help genre public and make it cringe, 'secret to success' vibes

I can’t speak for others but I remember it coming across more informative and research-based than maybe what you’re referring to as generic self-help/success bullshit. I remember the story-telling in it was particularly good. Aside from the book itself, I know she’s definitely credible in the area. I would recommend Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Somewhat similar book to Grit but I thought Outliers was better.
