Grow a F****** Beard

I'm talking to all of you men. I don't care how cool and manly you think you look with baby-skin smooth cheeks around your face, don't care how you feel that it makes you look like James Bond, presents your jawline, or portrays youth and definitely don't care how often you moistruize/exfoliate your heinous, acne-ridden cheeks. It is uncouth, it is unprofessional and most damningly it is beta.

The advent of shaving is THE worst fashion trend of the past and current generation. When I see some dickhead walk into a client meeting with a suit and tie on but shaven like a 12 year old, I immediately assume they are both a mental child and ridiculously self-obsessed. It's like wearing Nike Monarch IVs under Gucci trousers, just lesser. Moreover, what in god's name are you trying to tell the world by shaving your facial hair away into some weird form of a fashion statement? You think we’re still in the 50s? How long do you spend staring in the mirror covered in foam just to come out looking like some 30 year old K-Pop star? And at what point do you look in the mirror and convince yourself that looking like Michael Cera is the way to go? Do you also shave your chest hair? Can’t be bothered to exude manliness? Alright, “bro”.

Idk what is wrong with these people, but I do know the prescription: Grow a f****** beard!

To beard or not to beard, that is the question.  If you are a good looking guy with a good head of hair, I just do not think having a full on beard makes sense.  Why would you want to cover up a good looking face.  When I see guys with beards, I am thinking may be the dude is trying to compensate for something.  It is all personal preference, though.

agree with this. I'd say the best option is a light scruff cause it still shows your cheekbones but also sends a signal that you are a man and not a boy.

I go with a light scruff but trim the cheeks and neck with a razor. I shave my beard with clippers. Most people say it looks really good.

Yeah, as I mentioned in the competing topic, I shave everyday but I only shave the goatee area every second or third day. I kind of like the scruff look.

Light scruff is the move. That's usually what I rock - took me until like age 25 to actually have my beard connect all the way around evenly, so I was always clean-shaven until then. Now I trim every day and go clean probably once every two weeks for a reset. The tip is keeping it very orderly - contrary to what the #AntiBeard #BeardLivesDontMatter OP said, you can actually be a) a functioning and respected adult while b) possessing some facial hair on yourself.

I would gladly give up one of my non big toes to be able to grow a beard. Sadly, my genetics are shit on that front. I end up looking like a tree with half its leaves blown off :/

if I recall correctly, you're early/mid 20s. I thought the same until I hit my 30s and then the pandemic hit. people were calling me castro or mohammed by memorial day (ergo I went to something more reasonable)

here's what you do: book a 2 week trip between thanksgiving and christmas somewhere tropical, begin growing it November 1st (bc Movember right?) and then let it go all the way through new years, only trimming you should do is the adams apple and not letting your stache go into your teeth. 2 months won't have it fully filled in, but you'll get a sense if it'll ever be possible. I have friends where it'll never be possible for them, but most people (myself included) just never gave it enough time

Took me until age 25 to have my beard connect. You'd be surprised - there are some growth-inducing oils and other washes you can use to promote hair growth. It's never a guarantee (and don't buy some shit off of Alibaba that promises a magical beard), but you may be able to grow one soon! Nothing wrong w/ being clean-shaved, either.

I can’t grow facial hair for shit. I’d say I look best like 3-4 days after shaving when I have some evenly spread scruff, but once it starts growing longer, the patchiness shows.

I’m lucky and have nice bone structure which helps my jawline. Even if you aren’t naturally gifted, just get in shape and be at a healthy weight. Train your neck and traps so you look like a man, and the thick neck with a low body fat face will make you more attractive than the majority of pussies out there today
