Do you monkeys think there are significant health consequences from the toll of working 80-100+ hour weeks? What are they and what have you done to mitigate them?

Normally lack of sleep, weight gain, wrong diet, hair loss, stress, agitation, lack of time with friends, etc.
People who lift will be fine though.
Do you believe those to be short or long term effects of banking? As in, will health recover once WLB improves or is the damage too big?
I had the worst years when I was really young. Didn't lose a single strand of hair. Had periorbital hyperpigmentation, but that improved when WLB was better. Cremes and lots of hydration helped as well.
What helped me the most is that I never smoked, never had a drink in my life and never took any drugs. So that alone was worth the effort.
it really is amazing how diverse the industry can still be. Back in the 80s, it seemed like that's all that people did, but from a health perspective things are certainly improving, and hopefully WLB continues to change for the better.
Initially, I thought being a teetotaler would be an issue in banking. Then I noticed that two of our MDs don't drink or smoke and that we are encouraged to abstain when we are with clients. There really is no need to worry in banking, alcohol or drugs aren't a strong part like many movies (used to) portray it.
Yeah, and obviously you feel better and perform better for it. I personally do all those things (with the exception of smoking) to some degrees, but limit them to the weekend or special occasions.
