Here's Some Motivation For Ya

I stumbled across the following mashup and was pretty blown away, so I thought I would share it with you guys. If you're easily offended by bad language, you should probably skip it (but I agree with Doug Stanhope when he says that if you're offended by any word in any language, your parents weren't fit to raise children). I found the Adam Carolla segment particularly poignant, because my dad was a lot like his (only in a totally benign way). When I was rolling in the late 90's, I'd fax him a copy of my P&L every Wednesday after the close because he was genuinely excited and proud of the money I was making, but every single week he'd end our conversation with, "Just say the word and I'll get you on at the Post Office. You could have a real job." My old man was always totally supportive, he just couldn't break out of the blue collar mindset. But if you've ever had someone you care about intentionally shit on your ambition, then this video is for you. Cue the Rocky theme music...

good stuff eddie, good to see their faces on the homepage. in some of these mashups the background music/scenes get kinda corny but the content is always good. i've listened to this one a few times recently to get me motivated in the morning. Carolla & Rogan are 2 of my favorite podcasts + duncan trussell is awesome too. btw Carolla reminds me a little bit of you in some of the things he says.

funny in this Carolla podcast http://bit.ly/1h04i5z Rogan calls in and at 52:30 Carolla asks him "Hey Joe what's that video of us on youtube with the Enya music in the background"

If I had to choose one pdocast to listen to, it would be Adam's. The guy drops truth-bomb after truth-bomb.

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

I am constantly amazed at how solid Rogan's podcast is, and Carolla's a beast.

@AndyLouis I tracked down an isolation tank just outside of Paris at a day spa. Really nice set-up. €64 an hour a la carte, or you can pay €1,272 for six months unlimited access. I might get in there this weekend. I know I'll have to power through some really dark shit initially, but I'm betting it'll be worth it.

wow! never tried it, please share your experience with it on WSO

listening to this jre today

, Steven Pressfield basically interviews Rogan, great stuff. Aubrey Marcus is on it too (any of the jre's with him def worth listening too as well)

let me know how the tank goes! (heck do a blog post about it). not sure how good you are with meditation but it might take a few sessions before you really get into it, or you might get bored/claustrophobic and hate it, everyone's different.

if anything, therapeutically it's levels beyond a jacuzzi. my back/neck pain melted away completely while i was going once per week. going forward i don't think i could live in a city that doesn't have one

What's the story on Ayahuasca? What's it supposed to do?

Gives you the bubble guts. And trip balls.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

+1 all around. Rogan is solid (except for when he ventures too far off in conspiracy theory land). Lots of good life elevation advice in this thread.

Another epic Eddie post. This reminds me of TDKR.

"He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man." ― William Shakespeare, Much Ado About Nothing

"Doesn't necessarily mean these idiots can't snap out of it, like do mushrooms, take a yoga class or try to look at their life in a different way..." LOL right right

Rarely will any of my posts have enough forethought/structure to be taken seriously.

haha, i'm just diving into all his stuff, i knew you were a fan.

re: your tank experiences, VERY glad to hear this. I've maybe hit Theta 1 or 2 times total, sounds like you've got a great rhythm going. 2 Q's: How many hours do you go per session? Had you ever hit theta before floating?

Since where i'll be living in central america doesn't have any, i've been looking at some alternatives. You ever tried a biofeedback or neurofeedback machine? I just purchased this http://amzn.to/1bNQyln and very excited to give it a go. it may be snake oil - but it does have great reviews, either way it has great reviews.

dave asprey on this jre was talking about biofeedback machines that the military uses (on a much higher scale) and it got me extremely curious:

//

i can't for the life of me find exactly where it's at that he's talking about biofeedback, but if you haven't heard this one, it's an interesting listen, particularly around 1hr mark.
