How Do You Use Data In Your Everyday Life?

Hey guys,

Just wanted to crowd source a question to try to get some new life-hacks to try out. How do you use data and analytics in your everyday life to save time on a task, track something's progress, etc., etc.?

For me, I use "RescueTime" to see what I'm spending most of my time on while on my computer. Quick 5 minute Reddit distractions don't seem like a lot until you see how much that adds up to a day/week/month.

EDIT: Got rid of "Big Data" in the title for obvious reasons everyone pointed out in comments.

Definitely agree that tracking how much time I spend on websites isn't big data. Ignore the big data part, just data and analytics in general (I should probably change the title).

I personally think the term big data is just thrown around to get prospective clients to bite on consulting projects ("Your competitors are using BIG DATA to analyze their work force..."). If you ask ten people what big data means to them, you'll get ten different answers. Since it can mean anything, it basically means nothing.
