How hard is it to start and successfully run a financial services firm?

The thought of eventually running a business lingers in my head, as it probably also does for some of y´all.

Given that I´m currently studing something related to finance, how hard is it to successfully start and run a business in the financial industry? What would be the best/easiest type of firm to start?

Well, I'm gonna need more information to be able to respond:

Tell me about yourself.

What is your greatest weakness?

What is an example of a big risk you have taken in your life?

Do you feel more comfortable working in a group or individually?

How would your friends describe you?

What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?

1. Shy guy, who likes strategic thinking

2. Not good in technical fields (math etc.)

3. Honestly, I´m very risk averse

4.Individually

5. As a guy who could be a millionaire/billionaire without anybody knowing it

6. Playing for the youth national football(soccer) team of my country

With enough seed capital and the right timing, anything is possible!

I've seen plenty of friends start funds as well as other financial service firms that have been very successful, and others epic failures. Startup capital and timing are two items that can't be understated. It's not surprising at all that my friends with ultra-high net-worth family/contacts that launched funds in 2009 and 2020 were very successful.

Beyond timing/capital, being qualified and filling a market niche also comes in handy.

Good luck!
