How much is WSO worth?

What valuation would you assign to WSO?

What is the cash cow on here - the courses?

I don’t know why the location says Middle East - weird. I’m in ‘murica.

I'd say you value WSO largely like an internet/software company, with drivers being monthly active users, average revenue per user, gross merchandise value (in terms of sales for the modeling courses), as well as customer lifetime value (from WSO premium subscriptions). Overall, in terms of valuation, I think that monthly active users and total addressable market would be the most important because WSO's biggest potential and valuation driver is the ability to be monetized like a social media company through advertising revenue.

Yeah good points. It definitely seems like having a lot of ads isn’t in Patrick’s interest as it seems he wants to preserve much of the site to emphasize content.

I came here from analystforum.com and on there Chad definitely has ads everywhere. I’ve heard WSO gets a lot of ads for some people, but I’m on my phone and Safari and hardly see any ads except that wine company pin recently.

The assumptions around TAM will be interesting. You could argue it has been shrinking due to talent drain to tech, but we just had / on track to having a blockbuster year across multiple pockets where WSO readers have interests in, so that should garner higher user base on a PF basis.

I think you could actually argue it has been growing.  As more non-targets get turned onto Finance there will be a need for WSO for these students.  Banks just will not be able to recruit the amount of bodies from their original target schools and thus a need for well prepped students will emerge.

I am amazed that a bank has not partnered with WSO to put this forum on every campus. Think about it, if GS said,  We support WSO and the material they put out.  Boom TAM will have probably quadrupled overnight.
