How to date in SF/Bay Area

Hey monkeys, I have a question about the dating scene in SF/Bay Area. So, guys seem to complain about the dating scene here and the lack of quality girls, but as a mildly attractive Asian female (and according to my mildly attractive Latina girl friend, “Asian is the new hot" here in SF lol), I'm not finding the dating scene to be any easier despite the supposedly skewed male-female ratio. I just moved here beginning of the year, and if the skewed male-female ratio is really as magical as people claim, I think I should have some pretty good options to choose from, IF only I’m having any exposure to those options at all, but the problem is, I don’t know where to go:how to get out, meet people, and put out myself out there.
Guys, where do you go and what activities do you do on the weekends, how do you meet people/girls? Some concrete suggestions for neighborhoods, specific venues or activities would be helpful. I'm not finding the eventbrite or meetup events to be a good use of my time, as the events themselves are kind of boring and the people who show up all seem kind of random, or am I missing sth/not using these apps the right way…how do you find about events to go to and just in general, interesting things to do on the weekend?

Do you play any sports? Like volleyball, running, soccer, etc?. Then join a meetup group in those sports, and be consistent in going to each practice, training, games, tournaments (this is key). Guarantee you will have guys pouncing on you if you’re even mildly attractive as you say you are (guys will want to be your friend). You will naturally meet guys this way through the sport.

If you can't find guys in SF, you can't fine one anywhere. You seem to be in your mid-late 20s, how are you asking this?

Re-adjust your impossible expectations if you care at all about being happy LT

Here’s where the local lesbians go:

El Rio

El Rio on Mission Street is at the heart of the San Francisco lesbian bar scene. Entry is always free, and there’s a very well attended monthly soul dance party known as Hard French. A great place to meet locals and find out where to head next, El Rio has a pool table and shuffleboard, spacious dance floor, outdoor seating and a dive bar feel with plenty of odd trinkets.

QBar

QBar has a more mixed clientele as an icon of the Castro and an epicenter for LGBT nightlife in San Francisco. It has a packed calendar of events, including the Tuesday ladies’ night for lesbians, called 13 Licks. The crowd tends to be younger than many other San Francisco bars.

Wild Side West

Wild Side West in Bernal Heights might be open to everyone, but it was certainly founded by lesbians. In fact, it was probably the first lesbian bar in the city, having opened in 1962 by Pat Ramseyer and Nancy White. It has a history of pride and community that goes back decades, having to deal in the early days with stiff resistance from the locals. The current ownership continues in the same tradition, hosting nightly get-togethers for Trivia Wednesdays.

Twin Peaks Tavern

Another mainstay since the founding days of the city’s gay scene, Twin Peaks Tavern opened in 1972. Unlike most San Francisco bars catering to LGBT clientele, Twin Peaks Tavern decided that the time for hiding away was over and made the radical decision to have large plate glass windows looking out to (and in from) the street. Today, the venue remains at the heart of the Castro and has even been granted landmark status by the City Board of Supervisors. As might be expected, the interior retains many of its original features, too, including a mezzanine, wooden U-shaped bar and a mirrored backbar that predates the Prohibition era. Locals head here for an unparalleled sense of community and history.
