How to interact with seniors in Banking?

Just wanted to gain an insight on how some of you guys working with seniors interact on a social level rather than work?

I’m working directly with a MD at a BB, he is mostly busy, but when he has free time how do you suggest I interact with him? atm it’s just good morning, have a good evening when I leave etc

Thanks in advance .

Why not ask if he has time to grab coffee in between calls? Seems like the most natural way to talk to someone

That said, most MDs at my group will happily grab coffee but I think 90% of them are not interested in any type of social or mentor relationship with an analyst unfortunately... they are so busy with work and family. Definitely go for coffee but don't get your hopes up on becoming that close with this guy

Be normal and gradually “shoot the shit”

Dont start talking debt markets or whatever nonsense to try and be a hardo/kiss ass

Im super comfortable with my MDs at this point to where I feel comfortable talking about side hustles, vacations, complaining about comp, etc

if you’re on the west coast, a good amount of the seniors surf or have surfed. So they’re just surfer bros at the end of the day, working a finance job to pay for their kids private schools
